Lurking downtown

Last night we checked out first thursday in downtown Portland, where the galleries (both upscale and low-scale) opened their doors to visitors. There was some good stuff - one gallery had some works by Picasso and Dali for sale - and others were more local artist-focused.

As we wandered, we got pretty chilly so we decided to stop into Stumptown Coffee at Ace Hotel. Arguably the best coffee in Portland, each cuppa is brewed to order. De-lish. We hung out in the lobby of Ace, wondering if we were cool enough. There was a couple who had to be in high school, but who knows anymore. All I can tell you is that the guy looked like David Hemmings from Blow Up, and he had on tight white jeans. How did the 80s come back with such a vengeance?

After becoming sufficiently caffeinated, we decided we needed some booze. We strolled down to Ringlers Annex. I loved this place! They have a downstairs cellar where you can booze it up all nice and cozy.

Ahh, Portland...
