My trip to the E-B, Part One

This weekend I drove up to the E-B (East Bay) to visit friends in Oakland and Alameda. It was Dexter's 1st Birthday, and the BBQ in his honor was awesome! The weather was divine and it was great to celebrate with the little man, his family, and friends!

Baby D's cake.

For the rest of us... complete with his nicknames (clockwise from top left: Dexatrim, The Dexican, Sir Dex-a-Lot, and Dexalotapus)

The birthday boy crawls fast!

Katherine's holding baby D, and that's Suzie's mom, Carolyn, and her husband, Gopal.

Looks like Baby D had a very good birthday.

That's Ren, Dexter's Aunt Nini, The Other Rebecca, Andrei, and his wife Ivy, all admiring the birthday boy. Check out a close-up of Andrei's t-shirt here.

Karen, Denis, and Ren, looking lovely and cute.

Dexter's not sure why so many people are gathered around him, taking pictures!

"Why is everyone watching me?"

Dexter digs in to the cake, and his momma is there to cheer him on!

Uh-oh! Sugar overload!

That is a suspiciously Fairchildish man, Bex, you are totally right. Weird. (O/T: Karen looks fabulous, I must say.)

Also, little note from a certain Joj- apparently people without Blogger or Gmail accounts can't post comments here, even if they want to. Not sure if that was intentional (no crazy anon posts to monitor/delete) or not, but I think more folks folkifize in the comment section if they were more easily able to do so. Maybe. I'm just sayin'.

Also, Dexter couldn't be cuter if he tried, my ovaries are bursting over here, jesus.

I didn't realize that about the comments section! I changed the settings... and I'll post a note about it to readers! thanks for telling me!!

And yeah, Denis is like Mike's doppelganger!

Dang, girl. You're good. You've got better pix up sooner than we do!

Can you send those to us? We don't have that many good pictures (except of The Dexican eating his cake, of course) and hardly any of the guests.

Poor little Dex, as it turns out, he was cutting four molars! I didn't really see them until the next morning. What a frickin' trooper.

Loving your blog, Rebecca! You post more often than anyone I know. Good for you! I need to be more vigilant about checking it.

Huge Hugs, and hopefully I'll be seeing you soon!
